Volunteering

Opportunities to get involved in volunteer work arise throughout the year with local organisations in our town, with the Town’s charity shops. You will find some are advertised at the premises, others in the local press and also through Conwy Voluntary Services Council, Colwyn Bay – 01492 534091

Waste Collection Arrangements

Waste collections are made on the following basis:

Main (Black) Refuse Bin – every three weeks Recycling Bins (Trollibox) – weekly Food Waste Bin – weekly Battery Bag – weekly Nappy Box – as advised on application for this service Garden Waste (Green) Bag – fortnightly Textile Bag – fortnightly Small Electrical Items Bag – fortnightly Guidance as to what should and should not be put in these containers is available on Conwy’s website

Householders are required to place their bins and bags at the boundary of their premises – special arrangements are available for assisted collections in certain cases. Each year, Conwy Council provide every household with a leaflet identifying the collection days month by month and indicate the normal scheduled collection day. Collections may be made at any time between 7.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Conwy has arrangements for special and bulky collections and operate a recycling centre at Mochdre. Recycling “banks” for a range of items are located at the Coop Car Park, Plough Street and at Plas yn Dre
